Stijn Delauré is a policy officer at DG Research & Innovation of the European Commission, in the unit Academic R&I and Research Organisations (RTD.G2), dealing with the sector of universities and Strengthening the European Research Area. He joined the European Commission in 2017 as policy officer for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions at DG Education.
Stijn obtained a PhD in Biotechnology in 2003 at Ghent University in collaboration with private sector, and worked as researcher in Bayer Bioscience and at KU Leuven. Afterwards, he moved to research coordination and research policy at KU Leuven and the League of European Research Universities (LERU), during which he was also active i.a. in EARMA, Coimbra Group, COST action BESTPRAC. He acted as expert in FP7 actions related to widening participation, and was member of the H2020 MSCA Advisory Group before joining the Commission.
