Prof. dr. Leandra Vranješ Markić is the vice-rector for research and innovation and a full professor of physics at the University of Split. She leads physics of quantum matter research group at the Faculty of Science and has active collaborations with groups at Johannes Kepler University Linz, Universidad Politecnica de Catalunya and University of Delaware, where she spent an academic year as a Fulbright Scholar. She co-authored more than 45 scientific WOSCC publications, mentored 13 BSc, 14 MSc and 2 PhD thesis, and currently supervises two PhD students. She was head of the physics department and vice-dean for research at the Faculty of Science. Besides teaching and research in physics, prof. dr. Vranješ Markić has been involved in innovation support activities at the University of Split. She was one of the founders of the technology transfer office (TTO), and has managed it for more than eight years. She has been leading and participating in several national and international research, innovation and development projects. Currently, as a vice-rector she is responsible for R&I projects at UNIST, including significant investments in research infrastructure. In the European University of the Seas alliance, she leads the workpackage which connects education, research, business, society and environment.
