Project website: https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/794370/es
MSCA Call: H2020-MSCA-IF-2017
Researcher: Judit Chamorro Servent
Host organisation: Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) of Barcelona (Spain)
I hold a degree in Mathematics from UAB, two Masters (UPS, Toulouse-FR & UPM) and a PhD (UC3M). I was postdoc at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute-UoA (NZ) and at UoB, Inria & IHU-Liryc (FR). I have been awarded with six grants (including two visiting stays at DTU-DK & UBC-CA). In each stay abroad and collaboration, I have found new angles for research and covered diverse biomedical applications (optics, tomography, cardiology & electromagnetics); all related to modeling, optimizing and reconstructing signal/imaging problems. I also teach at the Biomedical Engineering degree.
As stated in the project website, COLONINFO aims to interdisciplinary provide:
i) models in order to study the possibility of knowing the level of malignancy of an abnormal tissue (cancer quantification), &
ii) the reconstruction microwave imaging software to bring a new pre-prototype to the clinical use.
A model to study the possibility or not of quantification, and a first software allowing the detection of the angular position of an abnormal tissue inside an intrabody tract, were transferred to a new spinoff. The outcomes could be easily extended to cover new medical societal needs.
